Trustees
We are looking for two new Trustees to join our growing charity. Registered in May 2025, we support schools and youth organisations across Lancashire and Cumbria to transform their grounds using permaculture principles — making them wilder, greener spaces that support learning, wellbeing, and nature recovery.
For over five years, our team has delivered hands on gardening and natureconnectedness programmes that help children and young people:
-
develop a love of nature and growing food,
-
understand their impact on the environment, and
-
feel empowered to take meaningful climate action.
We currently work with a network of more than 35 schools and are proud members of the Morecambe Bay Curriculum and the Food Futures Partnership. To date, we’ve planted over 3,000 trees and raised more than £90,000 in grant funding, enabling us to grow rapidly and employ both fulltime and parttime staff.
As we continue to expand our reach, we are aiming to grow our work beyond our current regions, building partnerships with more schools, communities, and youth organisations who share our mission. We are seeking Trustees who can help strengthen our governance, guide our strategic development, and champion our values as we take these next steps.
Who We’re Looking For
We are particularly keen to appoint individuals with experience in:
Volunteer Engagement
Someone who can help us grow and support our volunteer network, increase opportunities for involvement, and strengthen our community relationships.
Charity Finance / Accountancy
A trustee with a strong financial background to help us manage charitable finances responsibly and sustainably and guide our longterm planning.
Why Join Us?
As a Trustee, you will:
-
play a key role in shaping the future of a young, vibrant environmental charity.
-
support our work with schools and communities across North Lancashire and Cumbria.
-
help create more wild spaces and inspire the next generation of climate leaders.
How to Apply
Please send a short expression of interest outlining:
-
why you would like to join the board,
-
the skills and experience you would bring, and
-
any questions you may have about the role.
